The second annual Sprint4Syngap, held April 30, 2022, was a grand success. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or contributed in any way. You made it happen!
Each spring, SynGAP Research Fund (SRF) families around the world come together wherever they are to participate in virtual and local events to raise money for SYNGAP1 research. It’s billed as a 5K fun run, but any kind of event is encouraged! The idea is to have fun while raising awareness, building community, and fundraising for the important scientific work SRF is a part of. Here are some highlights this year:
Sprint4Syngap is fast becoming a flagship event, kicking off a year of exciting fundraising events in the SRF community. Exciting and fundraising in the same breath? Yes, we make sure that the fundraising isn’t boring. We celebrate the lives of each SYNGAP1 family in all that we do.
So don’t worry if you missed this year’s Sprint. First of all, there’s still time to donate! But in addition, we’ve got a whole line up of events coming up, and we welcome your participation in any or all of them. Here’s the current list:
SRF’s mission is to improve the lives of people living with SYNGAP1. Towards that end, it provides grants to researchers developing therapeutics that will treat the disease. The pace and breadth of the scientific innovations has never been greater; we are closing in on therapeutics that can change patients’ lives. We must raise funds to keep up the momentum. This leap forward is why SRF launched the $1M Research Accelerator Fund in 2022. Check out this article for a deep dive into the current grant activities SRF is funding.
Sprint4Syngap 2023 is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2023. Get it in your calendar now, and start making plans. Let’s make it even bigger and better!
