Lizzy is 11 years old and was 40th worldwide to be diagnosed with Syngap1. She is from Los Fresnos, Texas. Lizzy has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She was diagnosed via the WES Test at Texas Children's Hospital. Her seizures started when she was 5 months old. As she got older, her seizures increased in severity and she began to regress in language. Lizzy sees 10 different specialists over the state of Texas. Lizzy has had 62 surgical procedures. She loves the water, fish, the beach, farm animals,YouTube, and her favorite color is green. She is non verbal but makes different sounds and shrieks for different emotions. She is able to understand Spanish. Lizzy has never been healthy enough to go to school so she is home bound which her teacher comes to our home. Some of her favorite things to watch are The Muppets, Sesame Street, and Star Wars. Storm troopers are her favorite from Star wars and R2D2. Lizzy is amazing she is kind, brave, and loves her family. Somehow in all her pain she is happy she has so much joy and she has the most contagious laugh. I wish everyone could know her because she can brighten your day without a single word.
